The SEAK Lab is looking to hire one PhD student for a new 4-year NSF-funded project titled “Knowledge and data-driven design of mechanical meta-materials”. The student will be in charge of developing algorithms to merge expert knowledge and data from expensive simulations in the context of automated design. We will also apply these algorithms to the design of new aerospace materials and structures.
The ideal candidate would have a dual background in engineering (e.g., mechanical, aerospace) and computer science, and an interest to pursue a PhD in artificial intelligence and machine learning in an aerospace context. If you are interested, please apply for a PhD in aerospace engineering here, indicating that you would like to work with me. The due date for applications is January 1.
