New NSF grant! Improved human-computer interaction for design of complex systems

Prof. Selva, Prof. Hoffman (MAE) and Prof. Yoon (DEA) have been awarded $300,000 by the National Science Foundation to advance human-computer interaction in the design of complex systems. The long-term goal of this project is to enable collaborative, mixed-initiative design in teams of humans and computers. Specifically, in this project we will explore how giving self-explaining abilities and a physical embodiment to design agents improves design outcomes.
